Our hair is our crowning glory. Whether you are a man or a woman, your hair reflects who you are. If your hair is well combed and cared for chances are you like keeping things neat and clean as well; if you have unruly and unkempt hair then you may either be too busy or starting a new hair style!

Do you know that there are natural hair care tips that both men and women can follow everyday without the fuss? Here are some of these great techniques to keep our hair clean and well-cared for:

1. Wash your hair every other day; you may never need to wash your curly locks daily since frequent washing may also cause damage to your hair as well. Wash your hair with a shampoo that can clean and condition hair at the same time. This is handy for people who are always on the go.

2. Comb with a bigger toothed comb to prevent damage to the hair shaft and tips.

3. If possible, keep away from treatments that can damage your hair. Curling irons, flat irons and blow dryers may keep your hair well styled but can cause significant damage as well. Opt for a simple cut that you can wear without having to style or how about a nice hair clip to keep hair in place instead.

4. If possible, stay away from hair treatments like perming, relaxers, straightening treatments and color treatments. These may make hair beautiful but may dry and remove important hair proteins that make hair strong. If you must dye or treat your hair, opt to do it once or twice a year with a 5 to 6 month interval.

5. Spend an hour or two during the weekends to care for your hair. You don’t need to spend much; you can do hair treatments at home instead. Try coconut oil or aloe vera extracts to apply on your hair and scalp. These natural hair care tips are great in strengthening and increasing hair volume. You can apply coconut oil or rub and aloe leaf on your hair; let it stay for about 30 minutes and rinse.

6. Like your skin, your hair may also be prone to damage from the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun. Wear hats or a hood or you may use an umbrella to directly block harmful UV rays.

7. Have a scalp massage. You may also do this by yourself. With your fingers spread, comb them on through your hair. Apply firm pressure on your finger tips on the different areas of the scalp. Take time to apply pressure on the back of the ears and on the base of the neck. This significantly increases blood flow on the scalp improving hair growth and health.

8. Eat a healthy and well balanced meal. A diet of high quality proteins can significantly improve a person’s health and may also improve hair, skin and nail health. You may also take multivitamin supplements to augment nutrients that you cannot get from your daily diet.
